Biker Culture
The reemergence of biker culture and style can been traced to the growing trend of “rogue” characters in current television series and films. Popular series like the Sons of Anarchy and The Walking Dead portray characters with the tough and edgy style. Wearing biker rings can give you a look of freedom and independence. Known to have originated after the 1950’s, the biker lifestyle became popular as a symbol of freedom, wildness and intensity. Wearing biker rings let you show off your carefree attitude.
Biker Rings for Him and for Her
Not only guys love these rings; even the gals wear the biker rings. Biker rings have become popular today due to many factors. Its rich symbolism, the intriguing aesthetic, the dark association to a dangerous subculture, all combined to get the interest of many guys and gals who are not afraid to take their style to a new level.
Styles of Biker Rings
Biker rings can be bought in different metals including sterling silver and platinum or plated metal, displaying both simple and intricate designs. Biker rings tend to be chunky and feature skulls, crosses, snakes, and wheels. Usually, skulls seen in biker subculture context also incorporate other symbols like winged skulls (for the Hell Angels) and the Grim Reaper (as seen in the fictional club of the TV series Sons of Anarchy).
Many of the modern biker rings are mass produced and made of stainless steel. The rings made in the 1970s to 1980s were mostly made with a wax mold process. The result is a much higher quality ring.
Gear Up and Show YOUR Attitude
So if you are a bike lover and / or love to flaunt your out-of-the box biker personality, then wear a biker ring (or 2 or 3 or ..) and ride with a difference. Drive with full attitude and show off your confidence in a grand way.
To soften the look of a biker ring, add another light-weight piece of jewelry, you will still be ready to stand out from the rest of the crowd.

This is so cool! I love the pig ring.
Yep = Go Hogs! Love me some razorbacks!
The biker can look can be such an amazing look. That make up looks amazing too. You have to be careful when applying such deep colours and start applying slowly.
Love that you noticed the makeup! Thought the deep color was part of the look, but you are right; it takes practice to apply correcttly.
What a great idea! My sister is really into all things bike. And I need a Christmas gift for her, so thank you!
Glad you found some inspiration. Happy shopping:)
I’m sure I’d feel super-bad (in a good way) wearing one of these rings!
Yes, it does bring out the inner wild child in us. I have fun just wearing them a few hours.
Hello,
I love the biker rings .
Lori English
Glad you liked them, and thanks for stopping by.
Many years ago my daughter and I had the opportunity to buy directly from Indian Motorcycle and loved their clothes, belts and interchangeable belt buckles! I still have those buckles and a few of their waffle tops. It’s wonderful to hear that biker gear is in style again, and the rings look like a lot of fun to add to any outfit. Thanks Robin!
How exciting for you! Indian is a classic in the field, and I bet you have some really cool stuff.
My sister gave me a biker ring – a skull – a few years ago. I love wearing it with a bunch of thin colourful bracelets. It always ends up being a talking point – probably as people are wondering what this silly grandmother is doing wearing biker gear. 🙂
Love this! You can be a grannie and a biker chic!
Great ideas! Back in the day that was my style – leather jackets and boots on a Harley riding behind my hot man. Still wear the boots but not the jacket anymore although I do still have it.
What fun you must have had! Love that you still have your jacket – it is a treasure!
Great for bikers and wannabes. Good stuff!
Love the wannabes angle! Thanks for stopping by.
Very cool stuff. I remember in high school the bikers were called greasers. Wonder if that’s where they got the idea for the movie Grease.
Thanks, and I remember greasers. Love the movie Grease – such a classic. Now I have to research the name.
so much fun. Stainless is probably a great material for these people. I have a feeling that they would be hard on traditional softer materials like silver! Love the Egyptian design.
It is fun to see the edgy side of folks. Good to know about stainless. The ones from the 80s were made with a wax mold, but not sure what metals were used – they are not shiny like stainless would be. Always love learning.
I think there is a “wild” side in all of us Robin! These are great for those that are bikers who want a little style! Great share!!
Thanks Joan. I agree, we all have a little wild side in us, and a little wild jewelry can let us express thus.
Cool with this return of the biker culture to be a way to show that you stand out.
Thanks Katarina – it is fun to have a way to stand out.
In my part of the country, it’s not unusual to see grandma and grandpa on their Harley enjoying their sunset years now that the kids are grown. You’ve got a whole new audience to market to Robin!
Joyce, I get that. As an empty-nester, it is going to be fun to do the things we want to do! Harleys included!
These are pretty cool Robin… and as a fellow biker… love the spread. Next time, let me know and I can be your model… just kidding!
Happy to have you model the rings! Take a ride up to Arkansas, and I will bling you with rings, and then photo shoot by the river:)
Oh! I have a couple of friends who would like this post. They ride bikes. I actually missed seeing the parade called Toys for Tots last weekend. It is an annual gift giving practice of bikers.
Thanks for the kind words. Lot the bikers for tots program – great way to bridge cultures.
Love the rings. I’m sure the ones made in the wax molds have a much more special look to them!
Thanks for the kind words. Yes, the vintage molded rings really rock the look:)
So rock and roll! Wish I was cool enough to pull them off!
Me too, but I did have fun wearing one on each finger, taking a photo, and telling my 20-something sons that I was ready for a ride. Well worth the 5 minutes!
Very cool stuff!!
Glad you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping by.
Some fascinating shares here. I have ridden in years but this brought back fond memories.
I felt the same way – let me relive another time and place.
This brought back memories seeing bikers in numbers on my way to Cape Cod during the summer. I wanted to be a biker but the fantasy died after having my son.
Love that you value your child more than your fantasies. If more mom’s followed your lead, the world would be a better place.
