History of Givenchy Jewelry
Hubert de Givenchy knew he wanted to make women beautiful from the ripe age of 17. He was born in France, home of the infamous fashion capital Paris, and at 25 he opened his first boutique stocked full of clothing and high end fashion jewelry. His creations were so popular that high end fashion boutiques from all over the world, carried his creations.
He was known for using beautiful rhinestones, polished glass, various plated metals, and faux pearls to make his pieces stand out. Givenchy also signed his pieces with a stamp and a logo on the clasps of the metal pieces, showing that it was one of his genuine creations. It’s this signature and the classic designs that he used that make his pieces so collectible.
Even though he retired in 1995, his label is still sold today in finer department stores and is known for its superb quality in both costume jewelry and pieces made of finer materials.
Givenchy Necklaces, Bracelets, and Earrings
Because women have different fashion sense, Givenchy was skilled at finding a way to appeal to many different types of fashion preferences. Some love modern outfits and accessories while others love wearing a vintage dress and it’s Givenchy’s classic vintage pieces that are not only collectible, but staples for any outfit all year round.
Givenchy Bracelets are fabulous additions to draw just a little attention to your hands during that important handshake at a job interview. Some come in vibrant colors and lovely crystals, or authentic gold tones in filigree-esque links. Givenchy even has fun charm bracelets for something less formal.
Earrings are a beautiful way to add drama to any outfit, regardless of the length of your hair. Givenchy loves to make your lobes shimmer and sparkle with dangling drop earrings, simple bulbs of large colored stones, and even less obvious but still stunning studs.
Decorate your neck and give yourself an elegant look during formal gatherings or special events with Givenchy. If you are wearing an off-shoulder evening gown, magical pieces by this label can highlight your collarbone for a sexier appeal. With sparkling crystals, a variety of metal tones to hold the stones, fashionable glass beads, and elaborate chains you’re sure to find something when it comes to Givenchy.
Summary
Givenchy started designing and producing his Couture Jewelry collections in 1967. Many pieces incorporate the Givenchy logo within the design itself, sometimes on the clasp. It is either marked Givenchy or you will see the double G logo. Many designs are statement pieces. Although somewhat more affordable then other Couture Jewelry collections, the quality and style is superb.
I LOVE Givenchy’s jewelry. I have several pieces collected over the years, and it truly seems they never go out of style. Such classics and well worth it!
Lucky you! Hold on to those pieces; many are rising in value.

What a great overview of this classy jewelry. I had never heard of Givenchy jewelry until now. I’m going to check it out.
Thanks, Quality is awesome; but only of the older pieces.
Great story about a jewelry fashion icon. The name Givenchy is synonymous with quality. I didn’t realize he only began in the 60s. He certainly gained fame right away. So neat💕
Yes, his rise to stardom was incredible.
Interesting background information on Hubert de Givenchy. The jewelry is exquisite.
Thank you.
Such classic-looking jewelry, it definitely reminds of the 60’s and many of the pieces that my mom had. Although I don’t know if it was real Givenchy or not. But beautiful.
If you still have some, check for the marks – can be very valuable.
Not a jewelry snob or a brand whore… but those are some nice pieces and love gold and brown… great colors to blend together.
Quality is what I love!
I recently bought a large lot of costume jewelry from someone who was going to have a garage sale.I went early and bought it all.One piece was signed givency usa.several others looked like it was also givenchy but is not signed. If I send pictures can you identify them?
So is there a way to date the jewelry or not? How do I know if a piece is from 1967 or now?
Thank you
