My Job, My Style, My Jewelry!

boardroom

Any woman should be able to convey her style no matter her profession.  Whether you work outside most of the day, work in a cubicle, or are in front of a classroom, you can still rock your unique style.  Your profession does not get to dictate your style.  What jewelry can / should you wear in the work place?

Be You

workingwomenMaybe you work in a male dominated profession.  Maybe you work in a very competitive environment.  Either way, you can still be you when you show up to work each day.  Put your best foot forward.   Choose your jewelry wisely.

If you want to wear a bracelet, go for a lone statement making cuff bracelet or wear a delicate bangle bracelet or two. Wearing a watch and a bangle is acceptable as long as you are not distracting your co-workers with jingle jangle noises all day.

Necklaces at work are admissible as long as they are not a danger to your job or cause distraction. Simple chain necklaces with small pendants may work best.

Know the Limits

Don’t think that you can’t wear something because you’re afraid it will be in the way.  Try it out for a day and you may be surprised that it was never a bother.  Now if your company has safety rules, (jewelry getting caught in equipment, etc.) then you should definitely abide.  A trendy, vintage styled bracelet is a small accessory that can pack a big punch without getting in your way.

  1. I’ve found over the years that less is more! A simple necklace can be a wonderful accessory! I’m not much for bracelets because they always seem to drive me crazy at work. I do love them for date nights, though!

I agree on bracelets, especially charm bracelets. I loved my charm bracelet and never wore it, and converted it to a charm necklace and love it!

  2. I think I need someone to go shopping with me to get me out of my comfort zone. My jewelry right now is my fitbit.

Well . . as the title says . . Your Style, Your Jewelry! And, if a fitbit is your jewelry, then I think that is great. When a new season in your life comes, you may just need that shopping buddy:)

  3. Accessories make the outfit. I like the idea of trying something out. I get too stuck in wearing the same jewelry with the same outfit. Thanks for the nudge!

  4. Exactly, add a little statement jewellery and it can transform your look.

  5. ccfsm@prodigy.net

And that is so right – your look – the look you want!

  6. I think accessories can make or break an outfit. I love my statement necklace pieces and I wear bracelets/bangels now that I have developed the courage to do so – lol.

  7. It helps to know the guidelines at your workplace. And if you are working from home then keep in mind who the client or prospect is before dressing for the appointment. probably don’t want to walk into a law office wearing cut offs or jeans. That being said…a colorful accessory like a necklace or scarf adds the wow factor to even the most ‘professional ‘ wear

  8. You know, that’s so true and part of the reason I don’t fit the “normal” mold is my size and frivolousness. I am 6′ and long legs, chest and arms, athletic so clothes (suits) don’t fit me easily.. so I created my own style and suits are not it… it works, fortunately. 😉

  9. I think that is the most authentic thing I have heard today…be you. No one can escape from that truth anyway. Being dressy according to your standards is great. It makes you feel empowered rather than following else’s style. As long as you are not off to what your company allows, you are cool.
